Discovered in the mid-twentieth century deep in the misty mountainous region of Brazil; Agaricus Blazei, a mushroom noted for its unique medicinal properties, has now been proven to have remarkable healing properties. The natives of the area have lived to be well over 100 years old and rarely develop the usual degenerative diseases associated with aging. They attributed their health to this mushroom which they referred to as the "Cogumelo del Vida" or "mushroom of life."
This particular mushroom is rich in polysaccharide compounds called beta glucans. These compounds improve the body's defense against invasive pathogens by enhancing the ability of macrophages, neutrophils and natural killer cells (NK cells) to fight a wide range of illnesses. Although other mushrooms contain beta glucan, the Agaricus Blazei contains the highest level of all the mushrooms tested.
